Our Ideal Weight Calculator doesn't provide a single number; instead, it gives you a comprehensive view of your healthy weight range by utilizing five established formulas. We input your height and gender to calculate estimates using Devine, Robinson, Miller, Hamwi, and the standard BMI range.
Each formula was developed based on different anthropological studies and provides a unique baseline for comparison. For instance, while one formula might suggest 155 lbs, another could calculate 162 lbs. This variation is normal because no single metric perfectly accounts for individual body composition (muscle mass vs. fat percentage).
By comparing these five results, you can see the consensus range—the sweet spot where multiple proven models overlap. It’s a powerful way to gauge overall health guidelines rather than relying on one arbitrary number.
